FIGs Housing

How might the Living/Learning option of the FIGs Program work for me?

When students enroll in a FIG, you have the option of living in a residence hall with other FIG students. Two FIGs residence halls are available--Ridgeway Delta with rooms leading off a hallway or a Stack in Fairhaven with a suite arrangement.

NOTE: Living in a FIG residence hall is not a requirement for enrolling in a FIG. After July 1, 2008, this option is no longer available, as WWU's Housing Department begins making housing assignments.

FIG residence halls have the advantages of peer advisors and study sessions with other students in FIGs. Students who plan to have non-FIG roommates may still be able to live in a FIGs residence hall depending on room availability.

Students who have taken advantage of this option often find it to be a genuine living-learning experience which makes the transition to university life even smoother. Even if you have already returned your preliminary housing information, you may still choose to live in a FIG residence hall.

For more information about residence halls contact: Office of University Residences, (360) 650-6565 or http://www.housing.wwu.edu/tour or assignments@wwu.edu. Students must first complete their FIGs registration on-line or at Summerstart before a FIGs residence hall will be assigned. Indicate your preference for Fairhaven or Ridgeway Delta on the FIGs enrollment form, so a room can be reserved for you.
